I wonder at times, about people. Especially those who are in the health profession. I mean they chose that profession, so why? Was it for the wages, or for a deep seated desire to be helpful?
In dealing with home support for mom, it seems to me that some do it, because it is what they truly like to do, while a good number are doing it for the money, and not much else. And to me, that is wrong. I don't know, guess when I was growing up, I was taught one is supposed to do the best they can, at any job they take on.
Sure, you may not do it super, but you have to try. Yet, today, many simply put in the hours, without any passion for it. Is it the system, that they have to follow that takes the passion out, or is it symptomatic of something more, happening in our world today?
I think we talk a great deal about accountability, but we have systems where it is nearly impossible for people to be accountable. And if we do, we intimidate them so much, that they lose the passion for the job. That is wrong, in my view.
And too, we seem to accentuate the income, the costs, more than the benefits. Is health care supposed to be profitable? I don't think so, but it seems that most do, today. Again, that seems wrong. Sure, we want to get the most bang for our buck, but that doesn't mean that the bottom line has to be in the black, does it?

Life's Twists and Turns
The more I live, the less I understand how things can be part of some grand master plan, by GOD. I don't doubt his existence, but I wonder if the way the world is, is truly part of a plan, or if he is winging it, as he goes?
Been working on Mom's site, that hopefully chronicles her life, as well as how she is dealing with God's Master Plan. (I am being sarcastic btw.).
Maybe when we do pass away, we get to find out, but in the meantime, we base all this on pure faith. No one has come back, to say why, which can be a good thing. IF it is that good, who'd want to leave, to come back, but as I go through all the trials & tribulations, I have to wonder. TO WHAT END?
Mom deserves more, in my opinion, than the pain, the suffering, that old age is bringing her. It isn't easy, being 92, and certainly not easy, when you have things like high blood pressure, mild dementia, and osteoporosis, among other conditions.
